Can Cooler Sizes Explained: Fit Guide for Regular, Slim and Tall Cans

Ask any first-time buyer the same question and you get the same answer: will this can cooler fit my can? Between standard 12 oz cans, sleek seltzer cans, tall boys and glass bottles, sizes vary more than people expect. This guide settles it.
The Three Sizes That Matter
- Standard 12 oz can. The classic — most beer and soda cans. Fits the standard cooler cut.
- Slim 12 oz can. Hard seltzers and sparkling waters. Needs the slim cut — a standard cooler slides off.
- 16 oz tall boy. Taller craft cans — check the height, not just the diameter.
Our neoprene coolers have a little stretch, so the fit has tolerance — but the cut has to match the can family. When in doubt, send us the can dimensions or a photo with a ruler beside it.
Measure Your Can in 30 Seconds
- Diameter: measure across the middle of the can, not the lid.
- Height: from the base to the top rim.
- Compare: standard runs about 2.6 in / 6.5 cm wide by 4.8 in tall; slim runs about 2.4 in / 6.2 cm wide.
Bottles, Stubbies and Everything Else
Glass bottles fit most standard cuts — the cooler grips the body, not the neck. Stubby bottles and 500 ml cans are the exceptions that need their own cut. We produce all of them; the can dimensions are all we need.

What size cooler for slim seltzer cans?
The slim cut. It is the same printing and pricing — only the cut differs.
Can I mix sizes in one order?
Each size and design is its own 500-piece run. Many events order standard and slim in matching designs.
